In Memoriam
Thank you, David.
Thank you for having taken an active, supportive interest in The
Clear
View School Day Treatment Center and for serving in recent years on the
Board
of the School’s governing body, the Association for Mentally Ill
Children of
Westchester, whose meetings you attended faithfully, even as your health
was
failing - excepting only when The Highwaymen called you to the
road. The interest that you took in the
well-being of Clear View’s children and the future of their school was
palpable
and brought you to sing for them in our little theater and on one
remarkable
occasion led to your bringing with you those renowned troubadours of the
Highway, who sang to a transfixed audience for the benefit of Clear
View’s
children. Thank you for bringing your
guitar to our annual clinical party and singing for us songs of your own
arranging and your own composition.
Thank you for Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. You
made our meetings a time to remember
always. Thank you for your friendship,
for your humor and your kindness and thank you, most of all, for the
care you
have always extended to Dr. Elaine Haagen, your wife and our Director of
Clinical Services, whose profound commitment to her profession and whose
nurturing work with our children and families have been wholeheartedly
supported by your love.
